About Us

Each year, Young Leaders of America receives middle school and high school students from across the nation who have been selected by their teachers to attend our week-long leadership conference on Clearwater Beach. Parents bring their students to attend workshops, take part in teambuilding exercises, and listen to outstanding motivational speakers. Our students learn about reaching higher, as well as how to set and achieve their goals. Taking a hands-on approach with our activities, students will gain experience working with others in a constructive manner. We both work hard and play hard throughout the week, giving our students an alternate view of their leadership style. Our last session of the week is inclusive of our student’s parent/guardians, where we will showcase their accomplishments throughout the conference. We have been so blessed to have found the talent required to make each year very special to all students who participate in the program. We look forward to meeting all of our new students and providing them a life-changing experience!

OUR STORY

When Jayden Sutliff was an 8th grader at Safety Harbor Middle School, he was selected to attend a leadership conference in Washington D.C. He had a great time and was able to see several of the monuments and memorials there and was able to listen to a speaker talk about leadership. When the conference was finished, he was asked by his parents to reflect on his experience. He told them that while he had a good time, there was something missing. He explained to them that he would have liked to have had the opportunity to listen to more speakers discuss leadership, motivation, and things that would benefit him now as well as later in life. It would also be an improvement to have more of a hands-on experience with performance-based activities. He talked to his parents for the rest of the trip home and finally asked them if they would help him to create the type of experience that he wished he would have had. His vision was to impact other young people like him and to make a difference in other students. His vision remains the same today as we have met and have had a life-changing impact on several students who have attended our program each year.
